What are beliefs?
Confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately obvious.
Animism- Earliest kind of religion. Animists believe that humans and animals (and sometimes even plants and rocks) have a soul or spirit
Polytheism- things in nature became more and more personified until they were eventually thought of as being gods and given specific names. Eg. Ancient Egyptians.
Pantheism- belief that everything is part os a god
Monotheism- belief in only one God
Agnosticism- uncertainty about God or gods
Atheism- belief in no gods.
